أكد أحمد كجوك وزير المالية، أننا نتطلع إلى دور أكبر للمؤسسات الدولية فى مساندة الاقتصادات الناشئة، خاصة فى ظل التحديات والمتغيرات العالمية، على نحو يُسهم فى تعزيز قدرة هذه الاقتصادات على تحقيق النمو المستدام وتلبية الاحتياجات التنموية لشعوبها.
قال الوزير، فى لقائه مع هانى قبلاوى نائب المدير التنفيذي لبنك أوف نيويورك بلندن، إن احتواء الصدمات وتخفيف الضغوط على الاقتصاد العالمي يتطلب العمل الجماعى من أجل التنمية، من خلال تعزيز التعاون بين الحكومات والمؤسسات المالية الدولية والقطاع الخاص، وتوفير الأدوات التمويلية اللازمة لدعم الاقتصادات الناشئة ودفع جهود التنمية.أضاف الوزير، أن الحكومة المصرية تتبنى سياسات اقتصادية ومالية متوازنة تستهدف تعزيز الاستقرار الاقتصادي وتحفيز النشاط الإنتاجي والتصديري، مع الاستمرار فى تنفيذ الإصلاحات الهيكلية الداعمة للنمو وزيادة تنافسية الاقتصاد المصرى.
أوضح الوزير، أن ممثلى كبرى المؤسسات المالية المستثمرة فى السوق المصرية أشادوا بالتعامل الاستباقي مع التقلبات الجيوسياسية، وما اتخذته الحكومة المصرية من إجراءات وسياسات ساعدت فى الحفاظ على الاستقرار الاقتصادي وتعزيز ثقة المستثمرين فى الاقتصاد المصري وقدرته على التعامل مع التحديات الخارجية.
