استقبل د. بدر عبد العاطي وزير الخارجية والهجرة وشئون المصريين في الخارج السيد “مسعد بولس” كبير مستشاري الرئيس الأمريكي للشئون العربية والأفريقية، حيث تناول اللقاء العلاقات الثنائية بين مصر والولايات المتحدة وعدداً من القضايا الإقليمية أبرزها التطورات في السودان والقرن الأفريقي وليبيا.
وصرح السفير تميم خلاف، المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الخارجية، أن اللقاء عكس تقديراً مشتركاً لعمق الشراكة الاستراتيجية التي تربط مصر والولايات المتحدة، مشيراً إلى أن العلاقات بين البلدين تمثل ركيزة جوهرية لترسيخ دعائم الأمن والاستقرار في الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا.
وأكد الوزير عبد العاطى والسيد بولس تطلعهما للارتقاء بالتعاون المشترك على مختلف الأصعدة السياسية والاقتصادية، وشددا على أهمية استمرار التنسيق والتشاور الوثيق حول الملفات الإقليمية محل الاهتمام المشترك. وثمن الوزير عبد العاطي الدور المحوري للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب في إنهاء الحروب وتسوية النزاعات على المستوى الدولي، خاصة دوره الحاسم في وقف إطلاق النار بقطاع غزة.
من جانبه، أشاد السيد “مسعد بولس” بالدور الريادي والمحوري الذي تضطلع به مصر كركيزة للأمن والاستقرار في منطقتي الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا، معرباً عن تقديره الكبير للجهود الدؤوبة والبناءة التي يبذلها فخامة الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي في دعم الأمن والاستقرار بالمنطقة، مؤكداً حرص الإدارة الأمريكية على تعزيز وتطوير الشراكة الاستراتيجية مع مصر في مختلف المجالات، ومواصلة التنسيق الوثيق بين البلدين لمواجهة التحديات المشتركة وتحقيق السلام والتنمية في القارة الأفريقية.
تناول اللقاء الشراكة الاقتصادية بين مصر والولايات المتحدة، وما تشكله من ركن أساسي في العلاقات الاستراتيجية بين البلدين، حيث أكد الوزير عبد العاطى الاهتمام بتعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي والتجاري والاستثماري بين البلدين، والمضي قدماً في الترتيبات اللازمة لعقد النسخة الثانية من المنتدى الاقتصادي المصرى – الامريكى، بما يسهم في تعزيز التعاون المؤسسي بين مجتمعي الأعمال في البلدين، وفتح آفاق جديدة للاستثمارات الأمريكية في مصر.
وعلي الصعيد الإقليمي، تناول اللقاء تطورات الأوضاع في السودان، حيث أكد الوزير عبد العاطي ثوابت الموقف المصري الداعم لوحدة واستقرار السودان ومؤسساته الوطنية، كما شدد على أهمية تضافر الجهود للتوصل إلى هدنة إنسانية ووقف لإطلاق النار بما يمهد الطريق لإطلاق عملية سياسية شاملة في البلاد، مؤكداً أهمية زيادة حجم المساعدات الإنسانية وتعزيز التنسيق مع منظمات الإغاثة والحكومة السودانية، مشدداً على استمرار مصر في تقديم الدعم الإنساني والإغاثي للأشقاء السودانيين. وشهد اللقاء نقاشاً حول الاجتماع الخامس للألية التشاورية لتعزيز وتنسيق جهود السلام في السودان الذى تستضيفه القاهرة والمقرر أن يشارك فيه مستشار الرئيس الأمريكي.
وفيما يخص الأوضاع في القرن الأفريقي، أكد وزير الخارجية أن اعتراف إسرائيل بما يسمى “أرض الصومال” يعد مخالفاً للقانون الدولي، وينتهك سيادة ووحدة الأراضي الصومالية، ويقوض أسس الاستقرار في منطقة القرن الأفريقي، محذراً من خطورة التصعيد في زعزعة أمن واستقرار المنطقة والبحر الأحمر.
وفيما يتعلق بالأوضاع في ليبيا، شدد الوزير عبد العاطي على موقف مصر الثابت الداعي إلى ضرورة الحفاظ على وحدة الدولة الليبية واستقرارها، ورفض أي تدخلات خارجية أو وجود عسكري أجنبي على أراضيها، مؤكداً أهمية التوصل إلى حل ليبي–ليبي شامل يحقق تطلعات الشعب الليبي ويحافظ على سيادته، مؤكداً ضرورة مواصلة جهود دفع المسار السياسي في ليبيا، بما يفضي إلى إجراء الانتخابات الرئاسية والبرلمانية بالتزامن في أقرب وقت، وخروج جميع القوات الأجنبية والمرتزقة من ليبيا تحقيقاً للاستقرار.
