أعلنت إدارة جامعة سوهاج الأهلية عن تغيير نظام القبول بكلية الطب بالجامعة الأهلية على أن يكون بأسبقية الحضور للحاصلين على الثانوية العامة علمي علوم بمجموع نسبته 90%، بعد أن تم قبول التسجيل الإلكتروني للمتقدمين وتم القبول على نسبة ٩٢.٨%.
وأثار القرار جدلا واسعا، تحديدا بقرار أسبقية الحضور، وبذلك فمن حصل على مجموع أعلى لكن تأخر عن الحضور لا يتم قبوله بالكلية.
وشهدت قاعة الدور الأرضي بالجامعة تكدسًا واسعا بين المتقدمين وأولياء الأمور دون أدنى تنظيم أو تنسيق بسبب القرار المفاجئ، وبناء عليه قام مدير الشئون للجامعة بجمع شهادة الثانوية العامة مصحوبة برقم التليفون على أن يتم التواصل مع الطلاب في وقت لاحق بعد فرز ومراجعة الشهادات والمجموع.
وأكد بعض أولياء الأمور أن القرار ظالم لأنه لم يعطي حقوق أبنائنا الطلاب ويعد بمثابة إحباط لأصحاب المجموع الأعلى، والأولى أن يتم النزول بالحد الأدنى إلى حين الوصول للعدد المطلوب من الطلاب بالكلية.
