جرى اتصال هاتفي بين د. بدر عبد العاطي وزير الخارجية والهجرة وشئون المصريين بالخارج، والسيد توم فليتشر، وكيل السكرتير العام للأمم المتحدة للشئون الإنسانية ومنسق الإغاثة في حالات الطوارئ.
وصرح السفير تميم خلاف المتحدث الرسمى باسم وزارة الخارجية أن الاتصال تناول الأوضاع الإنسانية فى عدد من الأزمات بالإقليم، أبرزها التطورات فى في قطاع غزة والسودان، حيث شدد الوزير عبد العاطى على ضرورة تكثيف الجهود الدولية لضمان النفاذ الكامل للمساعدات الإنسانية والطبية والإغاثية إلى القطاع، ورفع العراقيل الاسرائيلية التي تحول دون دخول المواد الطبية والإغاثية بالكميات المناسبة خاصة في ظل ظروف الشتاء القاسية. وأكد وزير الخارجية أهمية حماية المدنيين، وضرورة الإسراع في توفير المستلزمات الأساسية، بما في ذلك المواد الإغاثية والمنازل المتنقلة، للتخفيف من معاناة سكان القطاع، مؤكدا أهمية تنفيذ استحقاقات المرحلة الثانية من خطة الرئيس الامريكى دونالد ترامب، وبدء جهود التعافي المبكر وإعادة الإعمار.
كما بحث الاتصال تطورات الأوضاع الإنسانية في السودان، حيث أكد وزير الخارجية أهمية توفير الملاذات الآمنة وضمان وصول المساعدات الإنسانية إلى الشعب السوداني الشقيق دون عوائق، مندداً بالمذابح والانتهاكات الجسيمة التي ارتكبت بحق المدنيين في الفاشر وشمال كردفان، مشددا على ضرورة توفير الحماية للمدنيين.
واضاف المتحدث الرسمى أن الوزير عبد العاطي أكد دعم مصر الكامل لأنشطة مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشئون الإنسانية، ودوره المحوري في تعزيز الاستجابة الفعالة للأزمات الإنسانية في المنطقة، وحماية المدنيين ورصد الانتهاكات، سواء في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة أو في السودان، مشددًا على أهمية استمرار التنسيق الوثيق مع الأمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة لتخفيف معاناة المدنيين ودعم الاستقرار الإقليمي.
