استقبل الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي، اليوم، السيد نبيل فهمي، المرشح لمنصب الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية.
وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية بأن السيد الرئيس أكد دعم مصر الكامل لترشيح السيد نبيل فهمي لهذا المنصب، مشدداً على ما تشهده المنطقة في المرحلة الراهنة من تحديات غير مسبوقة تستوجب تعزيز منظومة العمل العربي المشترك، وتفعيل دور جامعة الدول العربية باعتبارها المظلة الأساسية والإطار الجامع للدفاع عن مصالح الدول والشعوب العربية.
وأضاف السفير محمد الشناوي، المتحدث الرسمي، أن السيد نبيل فهمي أعرب عن بالغ تقديره وامتنانه لدعم السيد الرئيس، مؤكداً تطلعه إلى العمل على تطوير أداء جامعة الدول العربية وصياغة رؤية استراتيجية متقدمة وفاعلة تتناسب مع حجم التحديات الماثلة أمام الأمن القومي العربي، كما شدد على قناعته بأهمية تعزيز دور الجامعة في المجالين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، بما يسهم في تحقيق الدور المنشود لها.
وأشار المتحدث الرسمي إلى أن السيد الرئيس أكد خلال اللقاء على الرؤية المصرية الحريصة على الاضطلاع بأدوار بنّاءة تعزز الحلول السلمية لأزمات المنطقة، لافتاً إلى تزايد بؤر الصراع وتصاعد انتهاكات القانون الدولي، وهو ما يفرض تبعات جسيمة على الأمن القومي العربي بمفهومه الشامل، ويضاعف من مسئوليات جامعة الدول العربية، خاصة فيما يتصل بضرورة تطوير أدواتها للتعامل مع التحولات الإقليمية وصياغة مواقف عربية جماعية أكثر فاعلية وشمولاً.
