تتابع وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولى والمصريين بالخارج حادث غرق مركب هجرة غير شرعية كان متوجهاً إلى اليونان من إحدى الدول المجاورة يوم ٢٢ فبراير الجارى، وعلى متنه خمسون من المهاجرين غير الشرعيين من بينهم ٢١ مواطنا مصريا ١٨ منهم لازالوا فى عتاد المفقودين، و ٣ لقوا حتفهم.
وقد وجه د. بدر عبد العاطى وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولى والمصريين بالخارج السفارة المصرية فى أثينا لتكثيف اتصالاتها مع كافة السلطات اليونانية المعنية لمتابعة تداعيات الحادث، وجهود انتشال المفقودين، وكذلك سرعة انهاء كافة الاجراءات اللازمة لاعادة جثامين المتوفين إلى مصر.
وتواصل السفارة المصرية فى أثينا استقبال أسر وأقارب المتوفين لترتيب وانهاء الاجراءات اللازمة لنقل الجثامين إلى أرض الوطن فى أقرب فرصة ممكنة.
وتهيب وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولى والمصريين بالخارج مجدداً بالمواطنين توخى أقصى درجات الحيطة والحذر، وعدم الانسياق وراء عصابات الهجرة غير الشرعية، والابتعاد تماماً عن السفر عبر الطرق غير القانونية مهما كانت الدوافع، وذلك حفاظا على سلامتهم.
وتتقدم وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولى والمصريين في الخارج بخالص التعازى والمواساة لأسر ضحايا الحادث الأليم.
