أدلى علاء فاروق، وزير الزراعة واستصلاح الأراضي، بصوته في انتخابات مجلس الشيوخ صباح اليوم، الاثنين، في مقر لجنته الانتخابية بمدرسة الرمل الثانوية للبنات بالإسكندرية.
وأكد الوزير في تصريحات له عقب الإدلاء بصوته، على أهمية هذا الاستحقاق الدستوري، مشيرًا إلى أن مجلس الشيوخ المنقضية مدته كان له دور محوري ومهم في مناقشة القضايا الوطنية الكبرى، ومن بينها العديد من القضايا المتعلقة بقطاع الزراعة والأمن الغذائي. وأضاف أنه من المنتظر أن يكمل المجلس الجديد تلك المسيرة، وذلك لمناقشة المزيد من الموضوعات والقضايا الوطنية الهامة.
وأشار فاروق إلى أن المشاركة الإيجابية واجب وطني وحق للجميع للمساهمة في تشكيل مستقبل البلاد، وأن صوت كل مواطن مصري هو أمانة يجب أداؤها من أجل وجود سلطة تشريعية تساهم في تدعيم النظام الديمقراطي والتعبير عن إرادة الشعب وتحقيق المصلحة العامة للوطن.
كما وجه وزير الزراعة دعوة خاصة إلى جموع المزارعين على مستوى الجمهورية للمشاركة بكثافة في هذا العرس الديمقراطي، مؤكدًا أن صوتهم يمثل قوة حقيقية للتعبير عن تطلعاتهم في اختيار ممثليهم القادرين على تبني قضاياهم والمساهمة في إيجاد حلول لها بالتعاون مع السلطة التنفيذية، بما يخدم المصلحة العامة.
وأعرب فاروق عن ثقته في وعي الشعب المصري وقدرته على اختيار من يستحقون تمثيله في هذه المرحلة المهمة من تاريخ مصر، في ظل القيادة الحكيمة للرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي.
