شدد الدكتور عماد برسوم، استشاري الأورام وزميل كلية الطب الملكية بإنجلترا، على أهمية تبني نمط حياة صحي في الوقاية من الأورام، مؤكدًا أن المشي السريع أربع مرات أسبوعيًا قد يقلل فرص الإصابة ببعض أنواع السرطان بنسبة تصل إلى 30%، كما نبه إلى خطورة السمنة، داعيًا إلى الحفاظ على وزن مثالي لتقليل احتمالات الإصابة.
جاء ذلك خلال مشاركته في فعاليات الدورة الخامسة من مؤتمر المدرسة الدولية للأورام الإكلينيكية (ISCO)، والذي يمتد على مدار 48 ساعة متواصلة، ويغطي كافة التخصصات المتعلقة بعلاج الأورام، من بينها أورام الدم، الثدي، القولون، الجهاز الهضمي، والرئة.
وأضاف برسوم أن المؤتمر هذا العام يولي اهتمامًا كبيرًا بملف “العلاج الشخصي” (Precision Medicine)، الذي يعتمد على التحليل الجيني لتحديد العلاج الأنسب لكل حالة، في توجه يعكس تطور الطب نحو تقديم رعاية شخصية دقيقة وأكثر فعالية.
وتناول برسوم في محاضرته بالمؤتمر التحديات المرتبطة بأورام البنكرياس، التي وصفها بأنها من أصعب أنواع السرطانات نظرًا لصعوبة اكتشافها في مراحل مبكرة ومقاومتها لوسائل العلاج التقليدية، مشيرًا إلى وجود أدوية جديدة وبروتوكولات علاجية مبتكرة بدأت تغير قواعد التعامل مع هذا النوع من الأورام.
وأشار برسوم إلى أن المؤتمر هذا العام يشهد مشاركة متميزة من خبراء دوليين ومحليين، ما يتيح تبادلًا علميًا فعالًا حول أحدث الأساليب والبروتوكولات العلاجية، إلى جانب ورش عمل متخصصة، من بينها جلسات “Meet the Expert” التي تستضيف خبراء عالميين أبرزهم البروفيسور أنتونيو لومبارد، فضلًا عن جلسات نقاش مع الأطباء الشباب لعرض آخر تطورات علاج الأورام المنتشرة.
