في إطار توجيهات القيادة السياسية بدعم الشراكات الدولية، وحرص وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي على تطوير منظومة التعليم العالي وفق أحدث النماذج العالمية، التقى الدكتور أيمن عاشور، وزير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، بالسيد/ مارك بريسون ريتشاردسون السفير البريطاني بالقاهرة؛ لبحث آفاق التعاون المشترك بين الجانبين، مع التركيز على التوسع في الفروع الدولية للجامعات، وتعزيز التعاون في مجال التعليم التكنولوجي.
أكد الوزير خلال اللقاء أن الشراكة مع المملكة المتحدة تُعد من الشراكات الاستراتيجية المهمة، لما تتمتع به الجامعات والمؤسسات البحثية البريطانية من خبرات رائدة، مشيرًا إلى حرص الوزارة على توسيع نطاق التعاون الأكاديمي والبحثي، ودعم البرامج المشتركة التي تسهم في تطوير منظومة التعليم العالي، وبناء قدرات الكوادر البشرية، وربط مخرجات البحث العلمي باحتياجات التنمية وسوق العمل.
وأوضح الدكتور أيمن عاشور أن الوزارة تولي اهتمامًا خاصًا بتطوير التعليم التكنولوجي، وتعزيز الابتكار وريادة الأعمال، والاستفادة من الخبرات الدولية في هذا المجال، بما يتماشى مع الاستراتيجية الوطنية للتعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، ويسهم في تحقيق رؤية مصر 2030.
تناول اللقاء متابعة التعاون القائم مع جامعة إكستر البريطانية، في إطار الشراكات التعليمية بين مصر والمملكة المتحدة، إلى جانب بحث آليات دعم البرامج الأكاديمية المشتركة، وبرامج التبادل الطلابي والأكاديمي، بما يحقق الاستفادة المتبادلة ويعزز جودة العملية التعليمية.
وشهد اللقاء أيضًا مناقشة سبل تطوير التعاون في مجال التعليم التكنولوجي والتطبيقي، وربط البرامج التعليمية باحتياجات سوق العمل، ودعم الابتكار وريادة الأعمال، بما يتماشى مع الاستراتيجية الوطنية للتعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، ويسهم في إعداد كوادر مؤهلة قادرة على المنافسة إقليميًا ودوليًا.
كما تم استعراض التحضيرات الجارية للمؤتمر التعليمي المقرر عقده خلال الفترة من ٢٠ إلى ٢٢ يناير المقبل، بتنظيم المجلس الثقافي البريطاني، وذلك بهدف تعزيز الحوار بين الجامعات والجهات الأكاديمية والبحثية، وتبادل الخبرات في مجالات تطوير التعليم العالي، والبحث العلمي التطبيقي، والابتكار، وريادة الأعمال، والتحول الرقمي في التعليم، كما يسعى إلى بناء شراكات جديدة بين المؤسسات التعليمية في مصر والمملكة المتحدة، وإطلاق مبادرات تسهم في دعم الخطط الوطنية للنهوض بالتعليم والبحث العلمي.
كما تم بحث فرص تعزيز التعاون الثنائي في ضوء الزيارة المرتقبة لرئيس مجلس الوزراء البريطاني، بما يدعم توسيع مجالات الشراكة خلال المرحلة المقبلة.
ومن جانبه، أعرب السيد/ مارك بريسون السفير البريطاني بالقاهرة عن تقديره للتعاون المثمر مع وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، مؤكدًا التزام بلاده بدعم الشراكات الأكاديمية والبحثية، وتعزيز تبادل الخبرات، ودعم جهود تطوير التعليم التكنولوجي والفروع الدولية للجامعات في مصر.
