استقبل د. بدر عبد العاطي وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي والمصريين بالخارج الشيخ جراح جابر الأحمد الصباح وزير خارجية دولة الكويت الشقيقة،، حيث عقدت مشاورات سياسية بين البلدين الشقيقين في إطار تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية والتنسيق المشترك إزاء التطورات الإقليمية والدولية.
وصرح السفير تميم خلاف المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الخارجية أن وزيري الخارجية أشادا خلال المشاورات بعمق العلاقات التاريخية والروابط الأخوية الراسخة التي تجمع مصر ودولة الكويت الشقيقة، وأكدا على أهمية مواصلة دعم العلاقات الثنائية فى شتى المجالات، بما يسهم في تعزيز آفاق التعاون في القطاعات المختلفة، وتحقيق تطلعات الشعبين الشقيقين نحو التنمية والازدهار. وأعرب الوزيران عن التطلع لعقد الدورة الرابعة عشرة للجنة المشتركة بين البلدين قبل نهاية العام الجاري، بما يسهم في دفع مسارات التعاون المشترك إلى آفاق أرحب.
وأكد الوزير عبد العاطي في هذا السياق أهمية تعزيز العلاقات الاقتصادية والتجارية والاستثمارية، منوهاً إلى الفرص الواعدة التى يجب اغتنامها في قطاعات البنية التحتية والتطوير العقاري والصناعة والطاقة، مشيراً ايضاً إلى ضرورة تعزيز التعاون الثلاثي في القارة الإفريقية بالتنسيق مع الوكالة المصرية للشراكة من أجل التنمية والصندوق الكويتي للتنمية.
وفيما يتعلق بالوضع الاقليمى، جدد الوزير عبد العاطي موقف مصر الثابت والداعم لدولة الكويت الشقيقة، معرباً عن إدانة مصر الكاملة للاعتداءات التي استهدفت أمن واستقرار دولة الكويت الشقيقة، والرفض التام لأي محاولات للمساس بسيادتها، مؤكدًا دعم مصر الكامل للإجراءات التي تتخذها الكويت لحماية أمنها. وأعرب وزير الخارجية فى هذا السياق عن التقدير للدعم الذى قدمته دولة الكويت الشقيقة لأبناء الجالية المصرية في الكويت خلال الظروف الدقيقة الراهنة.
وقد تناولت المشاورات السياسية الجهود الرامية إلى وقف التصعيد وإنهاء الحرب، ومستجدات المفاوضات الأمريكية – الإيرانية، حيث اطلع الوزير عبد العاطى نظيره الكويتي على نتائج زيارته الأخيرة إلى واشنطن والاجتماع الرباعي الذي عُقد أمس في أنطاليا لوزراء خارجية مصر والسعودية وباكستان وتركيا، مشيراً إلى تأكيد مصر على أهمية مراعاة الشواغل الأمنية لدول الخليج في أي ترتيبات إقليمية مستقبلية. وشدد وزير الخارجية على أن أمن الكويت يُعد جزء لا يتجزأ من أمن مصر، مؤكداً أهمية تعزيز التنسيق والعمل المشترك بين الدول العربية لمواجهة التحديات الراهنة.
من جانبه، أعرب وزير الخارجية الكويتي عن التقدير الكامل لمواقف مصر الداعمة لبلاده، مشيداً بالدور المصري المحوري في دعم الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي، وجهودها المستمرة لخفض التصعيد وتعزيز التضامن العربي.
