ويستعرض الكتاب كواليس محطات فارقة في مسيرته، وتجربته في تأسيس وإدارة مركز الإبداع الفني، الذي تحول على مدار أكثر من عقدين إلى مدرسة حقيقية لتخريج المواهب وصناعة النجوم، إلى جانب رؤيته للفن، والإبداع، ودور الثقافة في بناء الإنسان والمجتمع.
ويُعد خالد جلال من أبرز المخرجين الذين تركوا أثرًا واضحًا في المسرح المصري من خلال أعمال أصبحت علامات في تاريخ المسرح، من بينها “قهوة سادة” و”سلم نفسك” و”هبوط اضطراري”، كما كتب العديد من الأعمال السينمائية والتليفزيونية مثل “حرامية في تايلاند”، “تيتو” و”1/8 دستة أشرار” التي حققت نجاحًا جماهيريًا واسعًا.
