إحتفلت القوات المسلحة بالعيد السادس والخمسين لقوات الدفاع الجوى والذى يواكب ذكرى بناء حائط الصواريخ فى الثلاثين من يونيو عام 1970م .
وبهذه المناسبة عقد الفريق / ياسر كمال الطودى قائد قوات الدفاع الجوى مؤتمراً صحفياً أكد خلاله أن اليوم هو ذكرى غالية لمعجزة عسكرية سطرها رجال الدفاع الجوى حينما تهاوت طائرات العدو أمام حائط الصواريخ الذى حقق السيطرة التامة على المجال الجوى ، مشيراً إلى أن سماء مصر مصانة ومحمية برجال فى أعلى درجات الإستعداد والجاهزية مسلحين بإرادة وعزيمة لا تلين ليبقى وطننا عصياً على كل طامع وأن حائط الصواريخ الذى بناه الأباء من أبطال الدفاع الجوى سيظل قوياً متجدداً يطوره الأبناء بأحدث أنظمة التسليح العالمية ، موجهاً التحية والتقدير والإعتزاز لهؤلاء الأبطال الذين كانوا وما زالوا حائط الصد المنيع الذى يحمى الحاضر والمستقبل ويحفظ للوطن عزته أبد الدهر .
وأشار الفريق / ياسر كمال الطودى إلى أن رجال قوات الدفاع الجوى يجددون العهد أن يظلوا دوماً جنوداً أوفياء لوطنهم مستمرين فى التطوير والتحديث لإمكاناتهم وقدراتهم القتالية لحماية سماء مصر وصون قدسيتها مقدماً الشكر والتقدير للقيادة السياسية والقيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة على الدعم المستمر لتطوير القدرات القتالية لقوات الدفاع الجوى لتكون قادرة على تنفيذ المهام المكلفة بها تحت مختلف الظروف .
