وفي هذا السياق، أكد الدكتور سامح الحفني، وزير الطيران المدني، أن مشروع تطوير مطار سوهاج الدولي يأتي ضمن خطة الدولة لتحديث منظومة المطارات المصرية ورفع كفاءتها التشغيلية، بما يضمن أعلى معايير السلامة والجودة، ويعزز من قدرتها على استيعاب النمو المتزايد في حركة النقل الجوي، موضحًا أن مطارات صعيد مصر تحظى باهتمام خاص في إطار رؤية الدولة لتحقيق تنمية إقليمية متوازنة .
كما أشار الحفني إلى أن تطوير المطار يعكس حرص الوزارة على تمكينه من أداء دوره التنموي والاقتصادي، وتعزيز الربط الجوي بما يخدم حركة السفر الداخلية والدولية، ويدعم بيئة الإستثمار بالمحافظة والمناطق المجاورة.
ومن جانبه، صرّح الطيار وائل النشار، رئيس الشركة المصرية للمطارات بأن إعادة تشغيل المطار يأتي ضمن برنامج تطوير متكامل يستهدف رفع كفاءة منظومة المطارات المصرية؛ لاسيما الإقليمية وتعزيز جاهزيتها التشغيلية، مؤكدًا أن أعمال التطوير نُفذت وفق برنامج زمني محدد وبمتابعة دقيقة لضمان الجاهزية الكاملة لكافة المرافق قبل استئناف التشغيل.
حيث شهدت فترة التوقف تنفيذ أعمال تطوير موسعة شملت إعادة تأهيل ورفع كفاءة الحقل الجوي بالكامل، وتطوير الترمك، ورفع كفاءة الممر الرئيسي والممرين الفرعيين وإعادة رصفهما، بما يضمن تعزيز مستويات الأمان والسلامة التشغيلية وفق المعايير المعتمدة.
كما إمتدت أعمال التطوير إلى صالات السفر والوصول، حيث تم رفع كفاءتها لتحسين تجربة المسافرين وزيادة جاهزية المطار للتشغيل، إلى جانب تطوير ثلاث صالات لكبار الزوار ورفع كفاءة دورات المياه .
وفي إطار تحسين الخدمات المقدمه، تم رفع كفاءة ساحات إنتظار السيارات بالكامل، مع تطوير أعمدة الإنارة واللافتات الإرشادية، بالإضافة إلى رفع كفاءة أكشاك تحصيل الرسوم بالبوابة الرئيسية، بما يسهم في تنظيم الحركة وتيسير الدخول والخروج من المطار
هذا ومن المقرر أن تبدأ شركات الطيران تشغيل رحلاتها اعتبارًا من 31 مارس القادم ، وفقًا للجدول المعتمد للموسم الصيفي، بما يسهم في عودة التشغيل بكامل طاقته الاستيعابية ودعم حركة التنمية والاستثمار بالمنطقة.
