أظهرت نتائج حفر البئر الاستكشافية «سيريوس 1X» بمنطقة شمال شرق العامرية في البحر المتوسط، التابعة لشركة شل العالمية، مؤشرات أولية مشجعة، بعد الوصول إلى العمق المستهدف البالغ 2115 مترًا، بما يعزز فرص تنمية موارد جديدة من الغاز من طبقة «سيريوس» الاستكشافية، مع إمكانية اتخاذ قرار مبكر للتنمية خلال عام 2027.
وتعد هذه البئر أول بئر استكشافية تنفذها شركة شل خلال عام 2026 ضمن خطتها للتوسع في أنشطة استكشاف وإنتاج الغاز في مناطق امتيازها بالبحر المتوسط في مصر، حيث بدأت الشركة برنامج الحفر ببئري «مينا غرب 2» و«سيريوس» في منطقة شمال شرق العامرية.
وكان المهندس كريم بدوي وزير البترول والثروة المعدنية قد تفقد قبل أسابيع أعمال حفر الآبار في هذه المنطقة، في إطار المتابعة المستمرة لجهود زيادة الإنتاج المحلي من الغاز الطبيعي.
وقد نجحت شركة شل وشريكتها كوفبيك الكويتية، بالتعاون مع الشركة المصرية القابضة للغازات الطبيعية «إيجاس»، في تعظيم الاستفادة من أعمال حفر بئر «مينا غرب 2» للحصول على البيانات الجيولوجية والفنية الخاصة ببئر «سيريوس 1X»، بما أسهم في تحقيق وفورات كبيرة في التكاليف، بعد تجنب حفر بئر إضافية مخصصة لجمع هذه البيانات.
ومن المخطط ربط الاكتشاف الجديد على الإنتاج بحلول عام 2029، كمرحلة لاحقة لتطوير حقل «مينا غرب» الجاري تنميته حاليًا، فيما تتواصل أعمال استكمال حفر بئر «مينا غرب 2» تمهيدًا لبدء الإنتاج منه قبل نهاية العام الحالى .
