ضمن فعاليات “إسبوع القاهرة الثامن للمياه” .. إلتقى السيد الأستاذ الدكتور/ هانى سويلم وزير الموارد المائية والرى بالسيد المهندس / سيد أحمد وزير الزراعة الموريتانى لبحث سبل تعزيز التعاون بين البلدين الشقيقين فى مجال المياه وتحقيق الأمن الغذائي .
وتم خلال اللقاء مناقشة مقترحات التعاون المستقبلية بين البلدين فى مجالات رفع كفاءة استخدام المياه وحوكمة ادارة المياه وتشكيل روابط مستخدمي المياه لتعزيز التواصل بين مؤسسات الدولة والمنتفعين، وتم الإتفاق على تشكيل مجموعة عمل مشتركة من الجانبين لمناقشة مجالات التعاون المقترحة، وكيفية تبادل الخبرات بين البلدين .
وأشار الدكتور سويلم لحرص مصر على تعزيز التعاون بين مختلف الدول العربية فى مجال المياه خاصة مع تشابه تحديات المياه فى معظم الدول العربية، مما يتطلب مواصلة العمل على تبادل الخبرات والتعريف بالنماذج الناجحة بمختلف الدول العربية .
كما أشار سيادته لحرص مصر على تقديم كافة اوجه الدعم للأشقاء العرب والأفارقة من خلال توفير دورات تدريبية متميزة بمركز التدريب الإفريقي للمياه والتكيف المناخي PACWA .
